AACEP/AAVREP Briefing on African American Policy Preferences

On Wednesday, October 5, 2016 an audience of over 100 attended a special briefing on the results of a statewide poll conducted earlier this year of African American voter preferences.  The poll surveyed criminal justice policy issues and other high priority policy concerns such as homelessness and health care access, the Black Lives Matter movement and attitudes toward the November 2016 General election.  The audience was broadly representative of elected officials, community-based organization leaders, neighborhood activists, the Empowerment Congress, Black Lives Matter adherents, criminal justice reform, anti-recidivism, homelessness prevention and mental health diversion advocates and religious leaders.
